Why Polar Notions?

The storage sheets are made of solid, acid-free plastic. To emphasize their durability, we wrap and unwrap at least 400 times a day during a show using the same mini-bolt. At the end of the show, that min-bolt is as strong as a new one out of the box. The sizes were deliberate. The 11 3/4" height allows them to be stored easily in normal bookcases (12" clearance between shelves). Regular file cabinets are a great place to store fabric too. Fabric can also be managed quite nicely just laying them flat on a shelf because the "mini bolt" holds the fabric rigid keeping the fabric from migrating to the back and getting lost. If you use bins, you still can. Taking your fabric in and out is easy. The 7 1/2" width was also by design. When you wrap your fabric around the bolt twice, you have a yard of fabric. Just like the store bolts. Being made of solid plastic, not plastic coated corrugated cardboard, they only needed to be 1/16" thick to keep their shape as well as strength. Lastly, but just as important, the cost. Because we do the work ourselves, we can keep the price down. We are the best price out there.

When comparing our product to any organizers that may be out there, remember to look for quality, design and price. Those elements hold us above the rest.

You might notice that we use the term "Mini-Bolts" throughout the site. We are very aware that you want your fabric to mimic the look of a quilt store, however, please do not use the bolts from the stores. They are NOT acid free, and your fabric will be ruined. (see sample) Use our "Mini-Bolts" or if you insist, our "Fabric Storage Sheets." Either way, we'll know what you mean. Just remember the Polar Bear and the company name, Polar Notions. That isn't changing.
